How long will it take to obtain the records?

The California Public Records Act (Government Code Section 6253(c)) requires the City to respond to a request for public records within ten (10) calendar days of receipt of request. The City will determine whether the request, in whole or in part, seeks copies of disclosable records and will promptly notify the requester of its determination. In unusual circumstances, it may be necessary to request a 14-day extension to provide a determination.
